Description
Leather fire bucket "MARINE" "M. LUNT, jr. 1776 "ALL HANDS HOA", "No. 1" with vignettes of a burning Georgian Colonial three story house typical of Newburyport and a three masted ship at sea. In December of 1775 the Marine Fire Society of Newburyport was organized by the master mariners of the Marine Society of Newburyport founded in 1772. The records for the Society began May 2, 1776.
