This elegant rocking chair was made by the English designer John Porter. It was made around 1840 of bent iron, making it a timeless classic, like Mies van der Rohe’s Barcelona chairs. Even Charles Dickens owned a John Porter rocking chair, which he had in his dining room.

The rocking chair is in good condition with age-related signs of wear; the iron shows minor wear, discolouration and chips. The leather upholstery is of newer make. The chair measures 157 cm (height) by 50 cm (seat depth).
