The Etruscan bronze ladle features a flat trowel with a long handle that stands out particularly by the original end pieces in the form of duck heads. In Etruria, an independent production of high-quality and appealing bronzes had developed since the 6th century BC. With these highly sought-after products, the Etruscans began a flourishing trade with the Alpine peoples. The Alpine tribes, notably the Celts, swapped the bronzes with the north and western royal courts.
The ladle is in good condition considering its age and has a beautiful patina of age. The length is 31 cm. The ladle comes with a recent acrylic glass base. (cko)
