Very good condition
This French Bonnetière was built in the Louis XV period, between 1730 and 1760. The model is characterized by a single door at the front. The piece of furniture is made of solid fruitwood which received a beautiful polychrome painting. The top shows the decorative shape of the so called ‘Chapeau de Gendarme’, whereas the feet are curved into volutes. The fittings at the door and the drawer are delicately crafted and in original condition. The hinges and the lock are made of iron.
The Bonnetière is in very good condition considering its age. The painting shows usual traces of age and use. The corpus has not been restored. The interior does not feature any shelves. It measures 242 x 125 x 60 cm (height x width x depth). (cbo)
