Practical game table, which becomes a small side table when not in use
This ingenious English poker table dates from the 19th century and is fitted with a revolving patent plate. The plate stands on high, fluted legs with brass feet. The aprons are fitted with rectangular brass fillings. When rotating the plate, one segment is elevated by a wooden rod so that one can grab it and open the plate. The interior is covered with a green velvet lining. There is a drawer with lock mounted under the table plate.
The table is somewhat worn consistent with age. Two segments of the plate show additions to the veneer. The table is chipped and scratched in places, and the velvet lining has some holes. The dimensions of the table, when closed, are 76 x 59 x 59 cm. The table plate, when open, measures 84 x 84 cm.
