Late 18th/ early 19th century. A black fabric parasol with polished wooden shaft, ivory umbrella tips, intricately carved ivory handle depicting an elegant woman, possibly Asian, with hair in a chignon, long earrings, and eyebrows arched in a heightened expression of joy, neck extending down into a carved draped collar, and base of parasol made of ivory carved into a pair of ladies low heeled buckled shoes standing on tip-toe. With a woven silk cord handle at figure's neck. Length of handle approximately 4.5" tall, length of foot approximately 1.75" tall, approximate total height 25.25".
