VEB Henneberg-Porzellan Ilmenau (est. 1777)

The porcelain manufactory was founded in Ilmenau, Thuringia, in 1777. All porcelain manufactories in Ilmenau were consolidated as the Neue Porzellanwerk Ilmenau in 1973. There were more than 3.000 employees in 1980 that were largely laid off in 1990. The production was discontinued entirely in 2002 and the production of porcelain was recommenced with approximately 50 employees in a small part of the factory some time later. Hero-Design distributes the porcelain today. (tm)
