A French ormolu mounted satinwood Art Nouveau mantel clock, retailed by Charles Frodsham, London, circa 1900, the eight-day gong striking movement stamped with S. Marti et Cie, MEDAILLE D'ARGENT, 1889 roundel to backplate, the convex wooden dial applied with gilt brass Roman numerals and indistinctly inscribed CHA'S FRODSHAM to centre within moulded gilt brass dial, the rectangular satinwood case applied with gilt brass framework incorporating leafy trails and whiplash curves to top and draped vine leaves to angles, the front and side panels applied with engraved gilt brass assymetric foliate-pierced fretwork decoration, on stylised outswept leaf feet with shaped apron between, 32.5cm (12.75ins) high.
