This oil painting was created by Rudolf Petuel, a landscape painter from Munich, in the early 20th C. The painting depicts a aestival landscape with a path across the green hill leading to a small village in the background. The orange accents in the tress in the right image area are especially eye-catching, and announce the autumn.



The work is in good condition with usuala signs of wear and age, like a slightly soiled colour surface and framing marks. The painting is signed on the lower left ‘R. Petuel’. On the reverse of the frame it is inscribed by an alien hand in pencil ‘Wagensommer im (…)’. The wooden frame is also in good condition. The dimensions of the painting cardboard are 30 x 36 cm, and the total dimensions, including the frame, are 38 x 44 cm.

Rudolf Petuel originally comes from Munich. He is mainly known for landscape paintings. Works by Petuel are held by the collections of the State Gallery and the City Gallery, Castle Hohenschwangau and the German Club in New York.
