Description
Presumably Austria, 1930s
Signed with monogram lower left ‘SH.’
Colorful flower still life influenced by the expressionism
Overall dimensions: 75 x 55 cm
Good condition
The present painting is a work of an artist, presumably active in Austria in the 1930s. It depicts a colorful still life with yellow flowers in a pitcher which is presented on a table. A ripe apple is placed next to it. The work is clearly inspired by the expressionism, as the style is sharp and angular and the perspective is flattened. A very charming piece of art!
The painting is in good condition considering its age. The corners of the cardboard are slightly chipped with tiny losses of color. There are also light marks at the edges. The work is signed with monogram lower left ‘SH.’. The backside of the cardboard features a mounted wooden frame. The cardboard measures 75 x 55 cm. (cbo)
