The German painter and graphic artist Oskar Koller created this watercolor in 1987. Depicted is in simplified forms the still life of Alps violets. The work is signed and dated lower right in pencil ‘O. Koller 87’.



The watercolor is professionally mounted in four points in a mat (reversible) and framed. Work and frame are in very good condition with hardly any traces of wear. The sheet is 38.5 x 28.5 cm in size and the total dimensions, including the frame, are 66.3 x 51.3 cm.



Oskar Koller (1925-2004)

The German painter and graphic artist Oskar Koller studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Nürnberg, where he was a master pupil of Hermann Wilhelms. In 1957, he was enabled to go on a study trip to Paris by the DAAD sponsorship program. He has been awarded a number of prizes, for example the Friedrich-Baur-Prize of the Bavarian Academy of the Fine Arts. His works are in the possession of national and international museum collections. The Oskar-Koller-Museum is located in Kallmünz. The estate of his total work is managed by the Art Museum Erlangen.
