The nickel-plated bronze sculpture ‘Nubian Queen’ by the Swiss artist Hans-Rudolf Giger (1940-2014) immediately catches the eye with its unusual and imaginative form. The figure of a pharaoh with overlong legs rises on a hieroglyphic plinth. Giger was friends with some of the exponents of the Vienna School of Fantastic Realism, including Ernst Fuchs, reflected in a significant influence of the artistic movement on his work.

The bronze is monogrammed with ‘HRG’, numbered ‘24/99’ and marked with the foundry stamp of ARA to one side of the plinth. It is in very good condition, showing only minor wear. The overall height, including the plinth, is 60 cm.
