N. Kendall, Vermont Percussion Under Hammer Rifle. Vermont Percussion Under Hammer Rifle By Nicanor Kendall. 32 in. long octagonal barrel, rifled bore, approximate .41 caliber, percussion cap & ball muzzle loader with under hammer, walnut stock with brass butt-plate, trigger guard, cartouche and original patch box. Signed on the top flat of the barrel “N. Kendall - Windsor, VT – Patent” and on the long tang “Smith’s Improved Patent Stud Lock”. Barrel has remnants of a black finish with brown patina showing through, has pitting and dings, barrel is seated tight, hammer cocks & trigger fires. 49 in. long.
