Marked on top of the barrel “New Model 1859” & Sharps Rifle – Manufg. Co. – Hartford, Conn.”, left side of the frame “Sharps’ Pat. – Sept. 12th, 1848”, on the lock plate “R.S. Lawrence Pat. – April 12th, 1859” & “C. Sparps’ Pat. – Oct. 5th, 1852”, serial number on the tang “34456” No visible inspectors marks. Cocks, half cocks, trigger fires, drop block action and lever function smooth and tight. 39 in. long.
