This lot comprises one double magnum bottle of 1979 vintage Romanée-Conti produced by Domaine de la Romanée-Conti in Burgundy.

The Burgundy vineyards lie at an intersection: it is where the restrained warmth of the South meets the cool crispness of the North. Due to this, the grapes can develop complexity at full maturity and still don’t lose their natural freshness. This is not only true for the white Burgundy, grown from Chardonnay, but also the red Burgundy, made from Pinot noir. What makes Burgundy an exceptional wine-growing region, however, are the small, rural structures that have caused generations of vintners to intensively grapple with the small parcels of vine-growing land in attempts to cultivate sublime wines. This continuity over centuries is brought to fruition in all of the finest Burgundy wines.

The 1979 vintage Romanée-Conti was rated 90 points in a 1990 issue of Wine Spectator magazine.

The fill level is excellent (< 4 cm). The label is very slightly soiled; the capsule is in perfect condition.
