The fragment, sometimes thrashed out to abstraction, becomes characteristic for the work of German photographer Thomas Florschuetz in the course of the 1980s. As a motif often serve human body parts. Thus, the seemingly abstract forms on an almost monochrome image ground are also based on clippings of human skin. The portfolio was published in 1992 in an edition of 12 +III copies by Edition Salzau.

The six two-part photographs of this portfolio are each mounted to a mat where they are signed and dated with pencil lower right ‘Florschuetz ?92‘, inscribed with pencil lower left ‘o.T. – Diptychon’ and consecutively numbered from 30 to 35 as well as numbered lower center in pencil ‘4/12’. Additionally the justification sheet is signed, dated and numbered in pencil ‘Florschuetz ?92 4/12‘. The glossy foils of the photographs show minor scratches, additionally slight soiling in the lower margins. The mats are slightly bumped in the corners. The cloth portfolio bears slight signs of use and occasional stains. Overall the condition is good. The mats measure each 60.2 x 80.2 cm. The overall dimensions of the portfolio are 61.5 x 82.5 x 2 cm.
