Description
Wood and lacquer, gold. Burma/ Myanmar, Bagan, 19th/20th cent.
A fantastic gilded Burmese Hsun-ok, originally used for presenting food at monasteries, hence, they can be described as vessels – even if they do not make this impression. This Hsun-ok appears more like a model of a Stupa. Circular, round form, outspreading base, ribbed sections and a tower similar to that of a Stupa, but with a less defined structure. Red lacquer inside and on the outside, gold lacquer over the red.
HEIGHT 20,8 CM
