Vernis Martin Bureau de Dame, in Louis XVI style, with ormolu mounts, triple arched top, domed lid and sides, the top painted with musical instrument, the front with a garden courting scene, the remainder including the back in floral decoration. The brass trimmed walnut interior features three small drawers with a full-width open compartment above, sliding pocket covering hidden compartment at back of velvet covered writing surface. Raised on slender cabriole legs with ormolu mounts. 37 1/2" tall, 30" x 19 1/2", 29" to writing surface; PLUS Carved Fruitwood Louis XVI Style Chair, with floral crest, caned oval back, shaped seat with petit-point of a shepherdess, fluted legs, 18" seat, 39" back, 18" x 20", some wear.
