Ferlinghetti writes fellow author Stanley Kunitz, who was serving as the "Consultant of Poetry" at the Library of Congress declining an invitation to read at the Library, citing his widening alienation from the U.S. Government. A well know letter, the text published in "A Political Pamphlet" (1976).
