Captivating little workbook for learning Chinese on a useful if somewhat rudimentary level, with exercises, vocabulary, etc. Among the phrases taught are "He robbed me of my watch"; "Give the beggar a cash"; "I told you to turn right"; "This ricsha coolie is very good"; "How many prisoners are there in the foreign gaol now?"; and the ever-necessary "Where is the latrine?" In the earlier part of the book are numerous notes, both in pencil and ink. No copies are listed in OCLC/WorldCat.
