Description
Pre-Columbian, Mexico, Vera Cruz region, Ca 600 to 800 CE.  A large and exceptional pottery standing figure.   Person of indeterminate sex standing with hands held outward to shoulders, wearings tone necklace with central heart-shaped pendant, head jutting forward, mouth opened exposing carved front two teeth, realistic ears drilled for earrings, hands and feet very detailed and realistic, large textile band around the chest.  Size:  17" H x 13" W.  

Provenance: Ex-Adeon Gallery, Chicago, IL, acquired prior to 1970.
