PATRIOTIC PATTERNED KEROSENE STAND LAMP AND RARE MOLD-BLOWN EAGLE CHIMNEY, colorless pyriform font, narrow band with various ornaments including shields, flags, anchors, and a figure thought to represent the USS Monitor Civil War ironclad ship with smokestacks and observation deck between two wider bands with alternating shields and caps, brass stem and single-step marble base, No. 1 fine-line collar. Fitted with a period set-up comprising a No. 1 hinged lip burner, thumbwheel marked "THE LIBRARY 1870", and reverse "PAT. JAN.24.60. & AUG.1.65.", underside marked "PATENTED SEPT 16,1862.", colorless Dithridge flattened lip chimney, embossed "PAT. OCT 8TH 1861" to upper rim and "DITHRIDGE'S EAGLE HINGE" to fitter, chimney body molded with an eagle within foliage. Third quarter 19th century. 8 1/2" H to top of collar, 3 3/4" SQ base. Chimney 6 3/8" H, 2 3/8" D fitter.
