CORNWALLIS SURRENDERS TO WASHINGTON Copper-plate line engraving 8 1/2"" x 11"" by Archer & Boilly 1854 after a period painting by Robert Smirke. A great image in fine condition with one major flaw - the event never occurred! Cornwallis embarrassed that he had been defeated by the lowly colonists refused to attend the surrender ceremonies sending a lower-ranked officer in his stead.
