Description
ERNST KALTENBRUNNER (1903 - 1946) SS-Obergruppenfuhrer who headed the RSHA (Gestapo and Kripo) and SD replacing Reinhard Heydrich. Executed following conviction for multiple war crimes. Lot of three signed documents concerning the promotion of SS-Obersturmfuhrer Robert Schweiger. The first document 2pp. 4to. Linz June 19 1939 recommends that Schweiger be promoted to the rank of SS-Hauptsturmfuhrer and have him appointed leader of the 37.SS Standarte. Kaltenbrunner signs on verso forwarding the document to the SS main office. The second document 1p. oblong 8vo. [n.p. n.d.] is a partial D.S. in which Kaltenbrunner simply agrees to Schweiger's evaluation. The final document is 1p. 12mo. Vienna Nov. 11 1939. Kaltenbrunner has apparently had a change of heart: ""...his promotion would negatively impact all of the other comrades whose promotions have been delayed for the length of the war..."". All three documents bear some dampstaining and resulting offsetting but still remain overall good to very good. Schweiger did ultimately receive his promotion.
