JAPANESE P.O.W. TROPICAL TUNIC Excessively rare Japanese prisoner of war's jacket with plainly stenciled ""P W"" on back. The crudely constructed cotton fiber jacket bears four front pockets the top pair bearing button closure flaps. The jacket itself closes with four wood buttons the top one split. Within the garment is unlined but for some reinforcement beneath the neck and at shoulders. An interior pocket has been fitted as well. A Japanese production stamps indicates manufacture in 1942. The fabric without is heavily sunned and shows wear at the neckline and one pocket bears a field repair within. ""P W"" has been painted upon the back of the garment in 7"" tall letters indicating the wearer's status as a prisoner.
