The coral jewelry set originates from the St. Petersburg masters Anders Johan Nevalainen, a Finnish master, who also made smaller gold and silver objects for Fabergé between 1899 and 1908 and Samuel Arnd. The pair of earrings and the brooch are adorned with filigree roses of coral. The mounts are made of 14 Carat gold. The pieces of jewelry are additionally adorned with 30 rose-cut diamonds. Elegance, preciousness and colors were features of the late 19th century of the tsarist time that were in this case united by these masters in magnificent pieces of jewelry. The elegance is unsurpassable, from the most filigree craftsmanship of the coral roses, over the multiple elements of the brooch and the earrings, which make the applied roses swing, to the jeweler’s work in the manufacturing. The roses are supported in their noble effect by the luminosity of the diamonds.

The pieces are stored inside a period case with an old jeweler badge (indistinct). It shows heavier traces of use, the cover is separated from the box. The needles and the brooch clasp are marked with the masters’ marks ‘A.N’ (Anders Johan Nevalainen, Finish, trained in St. Petersburg 1876, master 1885. Made smaller gold and silver objects for Fabergé) and ‘S.A’ (Samuel Arnd, 1845 goldsmith master and jeweler. Had his own master workshop and an apprentice 1849), the fineness ‘56 ??’, the St. Petersburg city mark and an import mark of a lyre with a crowned C (presumably Czech). The pieces of jewelry are in very good condition with a small soldering spot at one of the earrings. The earrings are each 4 cm and the brooch 7 cm in length. The total weight is approximately 24.45 grams. (tm)
