The porcelain egg originates from KPM Berlin from the mid-19th century. The ovoid wall of the porcelain egg is equipped with a gilt metal mount. The front wall shows a rectangle picture field with a very fine view, which is inscribed ‘La Forteresse à Petersbourg`. Presented is the view of the Neva of the Petersburg fortress with Peter and Paul Cathedral. Verso is finest gold ornament painting executed in dull and glossy gold.
The porcelain egg is in very good condition. It is 9 cm in height including the mount. (tm)
