Description
Greece, ca. 2nd to 1st century BCE. Mold-made pottery bowl in deep brown fabric, made to mimic the more expensive metal bowls of the period. Lower half decorated with palmettes, star at base. Size: 4"D x 3"H.
Provenance: Ex-private Collection of William Dale, a career diplomat stationed in Turkey in the early 1960's, who acquired a vast Collection of Greek, Roman and Near-Eastern treasures during his tenure.
