Pre-Columbian, West Mexico, ca. 500 BCE – 500 CE. Fine matching pair of pottery male and female seated figures, wearing matching headbands, ear ornaments and arm bracelets. Female wearing a knee length skirt, resting her hands on her knees. The male holds a fan or knife in his raised right hand and rests his left hand on his knee. Some remaining black and white painted decoration and highlights. Strong mineral deposits on the surfaces. Size: Each 13-1/2" H x 7" W

Both male and females lower legs have been reattached with females breakline visible and a restored breakline at their hips, area of resurfacing on the top of the females head, otherwise intact. Beautiful examples.
