Pre-Columbian, Panama, Chiriqui, ca. 800-1000 CE. Large volcanic rock metate on 3 legs with a frigate bird in its lower center, used as a Royal Seat of Power. Great minimalist sculpture carved out of a single block of rock. Size: 25" L x 17" W x 13-1/2" H.
