The AEAA is very pleased to present this next piece of valuable Topaz (Vaseline) Opalescent glass items from the respected Loren (Butch) Morse collection. This lot represents a stunning latter 1980s Fenton Art Glass, Topaz Opalescent hexagonal faceted base & crimped rim, baluster vase, featuring rich Opalescent vertical piping, and a wonderful Dragonfly & flowers pattern, hand painted by one of the well known Cutshaw sisters, Debbie. Our valuable baluster mold sports a unique flat shoulder, and is Fenton Ware #1648-TK. This Topaz classic Fenton vase explodes under black light, plus is in wonderful condition, weighing 2# and measuring 5.25 x 5.25 x 9 inches tall. our treasure retailed at $90 almost 30 years ago!Loren Morse was a respected family man and Vaseline collector, and his untimely passing a year ago was a blow to everyone. In 1959, Fenton was the first American company to re-issue their Topaz (Uranium Oxide - Vaseline), and shortly thereafter the Green Uranium glasses, subsequent to the expiration of the Hazardous Materials Act of 1942, which banned the commercial use of all Uranium, reserving it for the U.S. war effort. Fenton produced a myriad of beautiful Topaz, Topaz Opalescent, Topaz Iridized Opalescent items, and Green Uranium figurines & smalls, right up until the end.
