The two works were in manuscript form and were published by Rabbi Avraham Baruch Pipirono of Leghorn. Mivchar HaMa'amarim is a compilation from the Zichron Tov kabalistic work on the Torah of Rabbi Nosson bar Shmuel HaRofei, who lived in southern France c. [1300]. The first complete edition of the Iggeret HaShabbat of Rabbi Avraham Ibn Ezra, and the publisher writes about the origins of the manuscript he used.
The back of the title page bears an inscription from Rabbi Avraham Baruch to Rabbi Shlomo Chazan, the Chief Rabbi of Alexandria. The title page bears the owner signature of Rabbi Shlomo Chazan.
