Description
This note has pretty much everything going for it. Grange banks are a very popular subset of PA nationals collecting. The note is drawn on The Grange National Bank of Susquehanna County at New Milford. That was the only national bank in New Milford that issued currency. The example here has been graded as an AU 58 PPQ thanks to an almost imperceptible center bend; we only know it is there because we examined the note before it was graded. The bend is now invisible through the holder. To top things off, this lot comes with a letter dated Christmas Day 1963 where "Boppy" gave Billy this note. The president, WH Tingley was Billy's great grandfather. See the online listing for the letter. This note would easily be worth the opening bid as a generic circulated note. We think our estimate is very realistic considering the amount of SWAG this example possesses.
