Gucci
The House of Gucci was founded in 1921 by the master upholsterer Guccio Gucci as a workshop for leather goods in Florence. Gucci became well-known in 1947 after introducing a handbag with a bamboo handle, which is still popular today. After the founder’s death, the company’s success continued until the 1980s, when the previously family-owned company was partially sold. Since 2004, Gucci belongs to the French holding company Kering and is a part of the Gucci Group NV. Besides fashion and accessories, Gucci also sells perfumes, jewelry, watches and eyeglasses.
