Description
A large lot of fragmentary faience tiles from ancient Memphis, most with remains of turquoise blue glaze. The original paper collection envelope dated 1913 claims the fragments origin coming 'from the halls of Ancient Memphis, Egypt'. Ex-Ernest Freemark collection formed 1913-1915; ex-R. Knickerbocker family collection, NY.
