Nyoman Gunarsa (b. 1944)

Nyoman Gunarsa, born 1944 in Klungkung in Bali, was co-founder of the artist group Sanggar Dewata Indonesia and received his academic formation at ASRI Arts Academy in Yogyakarta, Central Java. After graduating in 1976 he established the Nyoman Gunarsa Museum of Contemporary Art in Yogyakarta (Seni Lukis Kontemporer Indonesia Nyoman Gunarsa) in 1989 and two years later the Bali Museum of Classical Painting (Seni Lukis Klasik Bali) in Klungkung, Bali. Awarding him for his efforts in promoting the Balinese art and culture he received the Dharma Kusuma cultural award from the government of Bali in 1994 and the Satya Lencana Kebudayaan art award from the President of Indonesia 2003. He has held solo exhibitions in Asia, Australia, the U.S. and Europe.



Condition: The painting is in very good condition with hardly any signs of wear. The total dimensions are 91.5 x 85 cm and the canvas size is 50.5 x 45 cm.
