4to (mm 204 x 140); original binding in limp vellum, with residual closure laces at boards edges; calligraphic title at flat spine; pp. 175, [1, blank]; text in Italian, printed in italics.
Title-page in black types, with a xylographic decorated head-piece and a woodcut device representing Mercurio flying on the Earth and keeping the caduceus in his right hand, with a motto on a cartouche above him: Coelo demissus ab alto; fine xylographic head-pieces and head-letters.
Two dedicaces: the first to St. Philip Neri (Al molto reuerendo m. Filippo Neri), made in Bologna by the printer Giovanni Rossi on the last day of April, 1569; the second, to Suor Flerida monaca nel monastero di San Tommaso di Reggio, made by the Author, Alfonso Ruspaggiari, her father.
The text is preceded by the Tables of content and printing mistakes and the introduction (Proemio).
A rare collection of Christian teachings and admonishments, translated from Spanish to Italian by Ruspaggiari.
Alfonso Ruspaggiari (1521-1576) was an Italian translator and illustrator.

Condition
Occasional foxing at few leaves and very little wormholes at front cover, title-page and first dedicace, not affecting the text. Overall, a good copy in its original limp vellum binding
