A rare work on Italian sculpture, with a nice engraved title-page, followed by an internal view of the Church of the Holy Cross and 47 numbered engraved tables out of text, showing the most important sepulchral monuments of powerful family of Tuscany, designed by V. Gozzini and engraved by Giovanni Paolo Lasinio.
The engraved illustrations show the Lorenzo Medici monuments designed by Michelangelo and also the monuments for Marsilio Ficino, Galilei, Macchiavelli and others, designed by Donatello, Michelangelo, Canova and others.

Nicholas II, Prince Esterházy (1765–1833) was a wealthy Hungarian prince. He served the Austrian Empire and was a member of the famous Esterházy family. He is especially remembered for his art collection and for his role as the last patron of Joseph Haydn.
