This trolley is designed by the Austrian architect Oswald Haerdtl. The three floors in nearly square curved shape are connected on the outer sides by thin struts. The framework is also characterized by the slightly curved design language, as it became popular again in the 1940/50s.



The trolley is in very good condition with minor signs of age and wear. The dimensions are 70 x 68 x 53 cm.



Oswald Haerdtl (1899-1959)

Oswald Haerdtl was born in Vienna in 1899. He initially trained as a carpenter before he began his to study at the Vienna School of Applied Arts from 1919 to 1921 under Kolo Moser, Josef Frank and Oskar Strnard. From 1922-30 he worked as an assistant to Josef Hofmann. In 1935 he became head of the class for architecture. In 1945 he was appointed as the head of the class in architecture and interior design as well as industrial design at the Vienna Academy of Applied Arts. In 1948 he was awarded the Architecture Award of the City of Vienna.
