INDO-PERSIAN KULAH-KHUD HELMET, steel helm with central spike and adjustable nose guard flanked by plume holders, with open-link chain mail neck-guard. Helmet dome decorated with incised floral bands in a six-point star pattern, centered on the spike crest, and a band of incised characters above helmet rim full round, most likely Farsi, "La Ilaha Illallah", or "No God but God." With cloth skull-cap helmet liner, and on display stand. 18th or 19th century. 7 1/2" D rim, 19" HOA on stand.

Very good condition overall, minor corrosion to spike tip, one plume holder lost, chain links with minimal corrosion and some minor breaks/losses. Helmet spike attached, but slightly loose.
