Description
A 1970s 18ct gold opal and diamond pendant. The oval opal cabochon, within a brilliant-cut diamond and circular opal cabochon scroll and floral surround, may be worn as a brooch. Estimated total diamond weight 0.40ct. Hallmarks for London, 1973. Length 3.6cms. Weight 7.3gms.
Condition
Overall condition good. Surface scratches in keeping with general wear. There are several areas of discolouration. The pendant loop appears slightly bent. Drop deficient. The opals have a greyish body colour, displaying blues, greens and orangey pink. The central opal has a few flat patches. The diamonds are fairly bright, one diamond is chipped to the girdle, Individual size and setting prevents accurate colour/clarity grade assessment.
