Description
H 7 in., W 3 1/4 in. This was an extremely important white jade figure with a mask. The jade figure looked like a shaman wearing a mask. The mask resembled to the bronze mask excavated from the Sanxingdui of Sichuan Province in China. In Sichuan Provinve, there is a famous show today called 'Face Changing' in which the actor changes different faces in less than a minute. This was the solid evidence that this jade figure with mask was the origin of the 'Face Changing' show today. This jade figure was probably excavated near the vicinity of Sanxingdui. The mask had some erosion at the bottom after burying in the soil for more than 3000 years.
