Japanese, late 19th/eary 20th century, heavily gilt and finely enameled urn with pinched scalloped rim, stylized floral neck, two foo dog applied handles at shoulders extending to tied bows with tassel ends, body with 18th century warlord with eight men, verso with six figures, landscape and stylized floral devices, circular base with alternating palmate medallions, stylized flowers and fans, unmarked, 42-1/2 in., gilt rim losses, other minor gilt and enamel losses. Notes: Notes indicate that this was an exposition piece for the Japanese pavilion, 1904 St. Louis World's Fair, and was with a St. Louis family since the fair; with a Pensacola, Florida, newspaper clipping with Garth's Auction advertisement. Provenance: Ex-Collection of Dr. and Mrs. John Puckett, Mazatlan, Mexico
