A late 19th century garnet pendant. The oval garnet cabochon, within a scroll engraved surround, suspended from a later fancy-link chain. Length of pendant 2.9cms. Length of chain 40cms. Weight 12gms.

Overall condition fair. Surface scratches in keeping with general wear. A panel has been added to the inner back of the pendant at a later date, to possible strengthen the setting, the back rim is dented in places, where the panel has added. Surface reaching inclusions and abrasion to the garnet. The garnet has a concave back and is relatively thin, with a weak saturation of colour. The chain is associated, there are visible dents to the mesh link in places, some links appear damaged. Clasp stamped Ciro 9ct.
