TUNIS PONSEN (DUTCH, 1891-1968) SCENE FROM SHORE. Oil on board, signed "Tunis Ponsen" LL Board: 20" x 24"

This piece has light overall grime build up. There is a grey pigment surface scuffing to the lower half of the sky, on the middle cream houses, and on far right sail. It is unclear if this is intentional marking for texture by the artist. There are also over a dozen pen tip sized scratches scattering the sky exposing white surface below. The brown house on the right has a 2" x .5" light red pigment scuff through the house. There are also a pen tip sized and 1" long line scratches to the right of the signature. There is wear,  pigment darkening, and pigment loss on the edges of the painting that is covered by the frame.
