Late Roman Empire, Ca. 2nd to 3rd century CE. Sweet pair of miniature hand-blown translucent glass vessels, one of pale blue-green hues, the other clear glass. With the invention of glass-blowing techniques in the 1st century BCE, the possibilities for artisans were virtually endless. Two quaint forms that make for a handsome pairing! 2-3/8" H (6 cm) and 1-3/4"H (4.5cm)
Provenance: Ex-Attal Collection, Austin, Texas, via family descent from great uncle, acquired during first quarter of 20th century.
