Description

A Bactrian calcite votive head from a composite figure, c. 3rd - 2nd Millennium BC, along with a large steatite body in the original style wearing layered gown and fringed collar. The head is original and ancient, the body a modern work of art to be used as a base for the head. Head measures 2 ¼ in (5.7 cm) in length, body measures 5 ¾ in x 5 7/8 in (14.6 x 14.9 cm). Ex Dorking, UK private collection.
