Meister of Ango (active in Rouen from 1515 to 1530)
The Amster of Ango was active in Rouen around 1520 under the guidance of the Master of Girard Acarie. He participated in, amongst others, the illustration of the manuscript 'Roman de la Rose' for Francois I, king of France (Pierpont Morgan Library, New York, see M. Friesen, Le Roman de la Rose pour Francois Ier, Lyon, 1993, pp. 148-150). The faces' subtle manner and the overall painting style can be clearly recognized.
