Autographs of Antoine de Saint-Exupéry are extremely rare and highly sought-after items
The notes presented here contain two leaves written in French. It is a technical paper with calculations as well as a sketch. The calculations deal with forces and energy shifts in piston pressure chambers.
Due to a comparison of the handwriting we attribute these leaves to the hand of Saint-Exupéry. Also the provenance - according to the previous owner, these sheets are from the estate of a pilot who was a friend of Saint-Exupéry - suggests that the records are from Antoine de Saint Exupéry.
Condition:
The glassine sheets are in fine to very fine condition. They show a uniform, paper-related browning as well as some creasing and folding marks. Sheet Dimensions: 27 x 17.8 cm, each.
Antoine Marie Jean-Baptiste Roger Vicomte de Saint Exupéry (1900-1944)
Antoine de Saint-Exupéry was a renowned and successful author. He was referred to as a ‘cult author’ of the post-war decades, although he saw himself rather only part-time as a writer, because his real profession was being a pilot. His fairytale story "The Little Prince" is one of the best-selling books in the world.
