The featured blue topaz is accented by a stylized diamond cluster, completed by a diamond set bail. The pendant is supported by an eighteen inch length 14KT yellow gold designer style chain, terminating in a lobster claw clasp. Bright polish finish. Containing: One prong set oval mixed cut natural blue topaz, measuring 25.00 x 18.00 x 10.75mm, 7%. bulge factor, approximate weight of 37.74ct., clarity is eye clean, type I, dark, very slightly grayish, greenish blue color, (GIA gB 7/3), cut is good. Transmitting light with no distortion, transparent. Graded in the setting. A deposit of a thin layer has been applied to the topaz to produce the intense color effect. The process utilizes a very high temperature treatment, diffusion of ions into the topaz, plus in some cases neutron bombardment has been used to create the color center.
